The Broadmoor Hotel Reviews

Review of The Broadmoor Hotel & Resort

Well, the Broadmoor just keeps the hits coming. After finishing their spectacular $100 million plus renovation, they've recently opened their new Broadmoor exhibit Hall, along with a wonderful new restaurant, the Summit, named and designed in honor of the annual Pike's Peak "race to the clouds", where cars, trucks and motorcyclists scramble up a gravel road ascent to the 14,000 foot mountain's summit.

After our review of The Broadmoor, it is truly a rare gem - and here is the proof - it is the longest running Mobil Five Star and AAA Five Diamond property in the country. Yes, you read that right - in the country! The Broadmoor Hotel has won so many awards over the years, I think they've run out of room to put them up, but we can assure you they are well deserved. This is a true resort - it covers an amazing 3000 acres, and has all the goodies you'd expect from this type of property, 3 golf courses, a world renowned spa, a tennis club, 3 pools (including a very cool slide & pool for families), horseback riding, specialty shopping, and lots more. I think at last count they had an amazing 16 restaurants & eateries!

The Broadmoor Hotel has that unique feel that really is a bit hard to put into words, but that consistently draws people back again and again. It is probably best defined by the impeccible service levels you will receive when coming here.

Service and Staff Review

The service and staff here are just superb! They are friendly, attentive, but not invasive. In our minds, exactly what a resort of this caliber should be.

Here's a tip - ask if you can join a short historical tour of the hotel. You’ll learn some interesting facts about the unique era this hotel was built in, and in particular about the very interesting creator of this hotel – he was quite a character!

Guest Rooms Review

If you’ve been a guest at the Broadmoor resort before, and haven't been in a while, we expect you will be extremely pleased with the recent changes over the past few years. None of the historical elements were significantly changed except the lake area and pools between the two main buildings. To us, this was a huge improvement. And the guest rooms are so elegant, they really give you that sense of being pampered. Our room had a nice blend of the elegant history of the hotel, along with all the modern amenities you've come to expect, such as marbled showers with plenty of water pressure! We also had some interesting nooks and crannies that help make this hotel experince feel so unique.

Sometimes referred to as the "Grande Dame of the Rockies," the Broadmoor has been visited by countless presidents, statesmen, foreign dignitaries, and every other type of VIP you can imagine. The Broadmoor is also attractive to many entertainment and sports celebrities. We had the priviledge of seeing a jazz concert in the International Hall headlined by Earl Klugh, along with some fresh new talent.

Meetings & Conference Review

With the addition of the relatively new Broadmoor Hall, the Broadmoor now can host much larger group functions. The expanded and updated conference facilities make this a very attractive venue for those groups wanting something with more pizzazz and warmth than most traditional conference facilities usually provide. We expect if you bring your group meeting, family reunion, or other special event to the Broadmoor, your group attendess will have the type of experience they will be talking about for years to come.

Was anything bad? Well ok, we'll admit that at one function we attended at the Broadmoor last year, the food was not stupendous - it was just good. But we're also knowledgable enough about group functions to understand this is a reality for every luxury property we've ever visited. But I wouldn't let this deter you in the slightest... I've also had the third best meal I've ever had at the Broadmoor. If you are a foodie, you will not be dissapointed by some of the spectacular meals at a wide variety of venues. And if you are really nice and ask, I might even let on to the local secret about 10 minutes away from the Broadmoor that is my number one meal - in the world!

To sum up our review, the Broadmoor is all this and more. It truly is a great retreat, and is consistently full to capacity for a reason. That's why it makes our "finest of the finest" list for the state of Colorado, and it should make your short list of places to try out - soon!
