After check-in in most luxury hotels, guests usually head right up to their rooms. Not so at the Pines Lodge, in Beaver Creek, Colorado. It is not unusual for guests to take a slight detour on the way, because you just can't help but stop and glance out through the large windows just off the lobby and restaurant. The Pines Lodge is nestled in an aspen and pine grove with stunning panoramic views of the Beaver Creek Resort area and the plush Beaver Creek Golf Course. If you're like us, once you walk through the front doors you may not want to leave. Not only are the views of surrounding Beaver Creek fabulous, but the rooms are really a home away from home, large, inviting, and luxurious. If that weren't enough, the Zagat and AAA Four Diamond award winning Grouse Mountain Grill will offer you the ultimate in dining pleasures and will delight the most discriminating palate.
But don't make the same mistake we did. After arriving a bit late, and moseying up to our room at the Pines Lodge, we called down to the front desk to make reservations at the Grouse Mountain Grill for that same evening. Very apologetically, the host told us that unfortunately the dining room was sold out for the evening. Although a bit disappointed in our bad planning, we decided to get settled and revamp our plans. To our delight, and without even asking, about 10 minutes later the front desk called us with a list of nearby restaurants and times they could offer us reservations. With that kind of personal and attentive service, we knew our time at the Pines Lodge would be both pampered and memorable.
The Pines Lodge has sixty luxury guest rooms with in-room refrigerators, coffee maker, VCR, complementary Internet access and even boot warmers. If extra space is important to you, the Pines Lodge offers townhouses and first class condominiums with kitchens, a very nice amenity for extended stays, whether you are skiing out the back door at the Beaver Creek Resort, or for the myriad of summer outdoor activities available in the Beaver Creek area, such as mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, or just laying around the pool. Oh, did I forget to mention golf? The distinctive Beaver Creek Golf Course runs right down the middle of the valley, and offers superb vistas, and challenging play for golfers of all levels.
Other amenities at the Pines Lodge include a heated outdoor pool, indoor Jacuzzi, cardio and weight room, on-site massage (in either a spa treatment room or within your own guest room), an elegant after-dinner lounge with outdoor terrace and underground guest parking. As you would expect for a hotel of this caliber, the Pines Lodge has valet parking service. We stopped by the lounge for a nightcap after our evening out, and had a great time listening to the live piano, and taking in the views. We probably shouldn't admit it, but at our behest, the pianist played a few tunes that sure brought back the memories.
If you need facilities for mid-sized or small groups, The Pines Lodge is hands-down the best address in Beaver Creek for conferences, meetings or special events. Due to the size of the Pines, your group will get the full attention, and expert service they deserve, without being swallowed up by other groups and large conference centers. The staff and facilities at the Pines can expertly accommodate meetings from 10-150 people in their elegant conference and events area, and yes, the views from the meeting rooms are everything you'd hope they would be!
